Caring for your beautiful Avarca Pops…

These beautiful luxury Spanish made sandals are individually handmade using real leather.

As natural materials, there can be variations in colour and surface texture of leather and nubuck over time.

We want you to enjoy your Avarca Pops for a long time, so we have put together some tips on keeping them ship shape.

 Leather Care:

• Spray a water & stain protector (like Scotchgarde) evenly over your Pops, using consistent sweeping motions to ensure an even coverage.
• Periodically re-protect and re-spray your Pops to resist daily soiling.
• Carefully read the instructions on the protector before applying.

 

Cleaning:

• To remove dirt, wipe gently with a dry cloth to remove any dried-on dirt and dust.
• Then dampen the cloth with warm water and wipe again.
• Allow leather to dry naturally, away from direct sunlight and direct heat sources.
• Use a high-quality cream polish that matches the shoe colour (carefully read the instructions before applying), then buff.
• Please avoid liquid shoe polishes and silicone sprays.

 

 

Nubuck Care:

• Spray a water & stain protector (like Scotchgarde) evenly, using consistent sweeping motions to ensure an even coverage.
• Periodically re-protect and re-spray Nubuck’s to resist daily soiling.
• Carefully read the instructions on the protector before applying.

 

Nubuck Cleaning:

• To clean use a rubber eraser to remove dirt and smudges. Brush lightly with a soft brush.
• Care should be taken to brush in the same direction.
• We urge you NOT to use a wire brush.
• Follow up with a resistance spray for suede and nubuck.
• Carefully read instructions on the resistance spray before applying.

 

Metallic Care:

• We don’t recommend using standard water proofer, but a specific neutral metallic protector and cleaner to keep these styles shining brightly.

 

Metallic Cleaning:

• Use a soft damp cloth to remove dirt and dust.
• Use a renovating polish for metallic leather, carefully read instructions before applying.

 

Glitter (who doesn’t love Glitter):

The Glitter Pops are very delicate and are not designed to be worn as an everyday shoe. They cannot be exposed to water as glitter loss will occur. Some glitter loss is to be expected as apart of wear and tear.

 

 Fabric Care:

• We recommend you apply a water protector for fabric sandals.
• Carefully read instructions before applying.

 

Fabric Cleaning:

• Use a dry cloth, gently wipe dirt and dust.
• Lightly dampen a cloth with cold water, and blot the stain, and work your way down the grain of the fabric. Making sure you dab rather than rub the fabric.
• Dry with a dry cloth, lightly dabbing to spot dry. Make sure that you do not rub the fabric.
